About Wayne Buran:

I started with control
line in 1960 along with my younger brother. We flew in an empty field
next to our neighbors house and if you strayed of the mark on 60 FT
lines you lost a wing!. I remember owning a red head McCoy on an Ambroid Super Whipsaw and an Omega Stunter by Midwest, along with an
assortment of ½ A’s. I have a love affair with the Air Force Museum and
enlisted in the USAF in September of 1962 and after basic training at
Lackland AFB, I was stationed at Sheppard AFB in Texas. We had control
line flyers there, but I never made the USAF team. I drove a truck in
the USAF but airplanes have always been a part of my life. I then spent
a year in Thailand and then came home to find six paved circles at
Cleveland Hopkins Airport. I married in 1968 and dragged the balsa out
in our one bedroom apartment and have been building and flying
ever since. I have flown, Carrier, Stunt, Speed and Sport and loved it
always. I expect to do as much as long as I can. I have had a great time
with the shop and enjoy providing control line flyers across the country
the supplies they need. Control line has changed a lot but that basic
feel of the airplane thru the lines has remained the same. Lets keep
having fun and I appreciate your business.
Sincerely,
Wayne Buran |
